IP Telephony Provider Eyes PBX Network Expansion in So. Florida

Seeking to fill a service gap among small and medium-sized businesses, a managed IP telephony service provider announced today that it’s expanding its private branch exchange networks in southern Florida.

Whaleback Systems (News - Alert) will now offer the greater Miami and Palm Beach areas its CrystalBlue managed VoIP service. The move is expected to help the Sunshine State businesses work more efficiently and cost-effectively, according to officials with a Deerfield Beach, Florida-based company that’s collaborating with Whaleback on the project.

We pride ourselves on providing solutions that fit a clients business needs, and CrystalBlue allows our customers to select a managed service that can cost-effectively scale to meet their future requirements,” said Richard Hillman, president of the collaborating company, A2000 Network Solutions (News - Alert).

He added: “By offering CrystalBlue to local ‘SMB’s,’ we can help them reduce deployment costs, avoid capital investments, improve productivity and benefit from advanced VoIP services that are monitored and managed around-the-clock by Whaleback engineers to ensure reliability and availability.”

Most medium-sized and larger companies use public branch exchange, or “PBX (News - Alert)” networks, because they’re less expensive than connecting an external telephone line to every telephone in the organization. It’s also easier to call someone within a PBX because the number you need to dial is typically just 3 or 4 digits.

Whaleback officials say their Portsmouth, New Hampshire-based company delivers an end-to-end broadband business telephony service to small and medium-sized businesses. Whaleback’s voice services distinguish themselves from competitors because they’re software-driven and based on each client’s premises, according to the company.

Whaleback’s CrystalBlue voice service includes an unlimited nationwide calling package designed specifically for companies with up to 1,500 phone stations. The service’s monthly price also includes a separate “voice only” broadband connection.

The southern Florida market is fertile ground for the company’s expanding service, according to Mark Galvin (News - Alert), Whaleback’s co-founder, president and chief executive officer.

“We believe that small and medium-sized businesses in this region will embrace the technology and business benefits of Whaleback’s managed CrystalBlue Voice service that is fully backed by a trusted local telecom service partner from their own neighborhood,” Galvin said.
