IP Telephony Provider Sangoma Partners with Continuous Computing

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert), a provider of IP telephony solutions, announced today they selected software from Continuous Computing to help support their Media Gateway offerings.

According to officials with Sangoma, Continuous Computing’s (News - Alert) Trillium Signaling System 7, also known as “SS7,” and the company’s Integrated Services Digital Network “ISDN” protocol software will be used to help quickly deliver Sangoma’s carrier-grade Media Gateways.

"Despite a diverse ecosystem of potential suppliers for SS7 and ISDN signaling stacks, we selected Continuous Computing's Trillium protocol software because it is the leading implementation in the market,” Nenad Corbic, chief software engineer at Sangoma said.

According to Corbic, Trillium software made it possible for the company to bring their new carrier-grade solutions to market in less than six months.

The market opportunity for SS7 and ISDN continues to grow as operators demand service continuity and the VAS market expands.

According to VDC Research Group (News - Alert), the market represents a multi-billion dollar opportunity for network equipment providers.

With Continuous Computing's Trillium SS7 and ISDN protocol software the signaling capabilities of next-generation telecommunications network devices are enhanced with greater availability, performance and scalability.

Sangoma made headlines recently when unified communications solutions provider CenturiSoft joined its global partner program as a certified application partner.

Sangoma’s global partner program enables high level product integration and parallel technology development. As a certified application partner, CenturiSoft gains access to Sangoma's partner portal and beta product programs, participate in joint marketing opportunities, and leverage lead referrals.

In addition, the partner program will allow CenturiSoft to integrate its flagship product, Centuri Messenger, with Sangoma's NetBorder Express.
